Top Ten Most Valuable Sports Teams

Are you rich and feel like buying a sports team? Well, if you wanna buy one of the ten most valuable sports teams in the world, you’re gonna have to cough up 3,000,000,000 US dollars. Or in other words $3 billion.

At least according to Forbes, who annually ranks the most valuable franchises.

Here are the top ten as of 2017:

T-9) Los Angeles Lakers

Value: $3 billion.

T-9) San Francisco 49ers

Value: $3 billion.

8) New York Giants

Value: $3.1 billion.

7) New York Knicks

Value: $3.3 billion.

6) New England Patriots

Value: $3.4 billion.

5) Real Madrid

Value: $3.58 billion.

”Los Merengues” topped the list between 2013–2015 but have now fallen down to fifth place. And like that wasn’t enough, they saw their biggest rivals surpass them in 2017 years ranking.

4) FC Barcelona

Value: $3.64 billion.

”Barça” are not only undefeated in La Liga this season. For the first time this decade, they are worth more than the aforementioned Madrid. However, they are not the most valuable soccer team in the world.

3) Manchester United

Value: $3.69 billion.

That title belongs to the second best team from Manchester. City might be ahead in the standings, but it takes continuous success to build a strong brand like United’s.

2) New York Yankees

Value: $3.7 billion.

Hands up if you would settle on just getting the revenue from their baseball cap sales.

1) Dallas Cowboys

Value: $4.2 billion.

They haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 1995 season, but they are called ”America’s Team” for a reason.

Jerry Jones purchased the Cowboys for $150 million in 1989. You could easily say that he would get a good return if he decides to sell.
